Boilers are robust systems, but they have components that wear over time: circulator pumps, zone valves, aquastats, expansion tanks, and pressure relief valves. Our technicians diagnose the root cause, not just the symptom — so repairs stick.

Common Boiler Repairs

  • Circulator pump failure — system not circulating
  • Zone valve replacement — one zone not heating
  • Expansion tank waterlogging — pressure relief valve keeps opening
  • Aquastat and control board failure
  • Pilot assembly and gas valve service (for older atmospheric systems)
  • Air venting — radiators that won't heat due to trapped air
  • Steam boiler water level and near-boiler piping issues

Frequently Asked Questions

A dropping pressure gauge usually indicates a slow leak in the system — at a fitting, radiator valve, or the boiler itself — or a waterlogged expansion tank. A waterlogged tank can't absorb system expansion, so the pressure relief valve opens repeatedly to compensate.

This is usually an air lock, a stuck zone valve, or an imbalanced system. Bleeding the affected radiator is the first step. If that doesn't solve it, we'll diagnose the zone valve and circulator for that zone.
